Building Control Plans / Detail Drawings

Building regulations are a set of legal requirements that cover various aspects of construction and design, including structural integrity, energy efficiency, soundproofing, drainage, and fire safety. These regulations ensure that homes are safe and healthy for residents to live in. Meeting the requirements of building regulations will require the input of specialised professionals, such as a structural engineer, and the project will need to be inspected by either local building control or a privately hired approved inspector.

Types of building control applications:

Building notice (BN)

Does not require construction level detail drawings and you can get started with the work within a few days.

Full plans application (FPA)

Requires a full set of drawings and needs to be approved before works commence.

Regularisation application (RA)

To gain approval for work already done, only suitable for retrospective applications.

We offer building control detail packages together with our planning applications for typical construction projects:

  • Ground floor extensions
  • First floor extensions
  • Loft conversions
  • Garage conversions
  • New garden houses (gyms / WFH offices / Entertainment areas etc.)
